VISIONS

was created in 2016 in collaboration with students from the HS Kaiserlautern and Nadine Schumacher.

In dealing with the layering of the first, second and third skin, staged body shells were developed, which were presented in a performance in the dining room of the former Pfaff area, which had been lying idle for a long time.

virtualFASHIONreality

VirtualFASHIONreality

is a cooperation project between the fashion course and the virtual design course at HS Kaiserslautern.

How will virtual design influence fashion?

How can one complement real clothing virtually?

How will new technologies affect the way we deal with fashion in the future?

These and other questions were developed in terms of content, design and technology by students of both courses and presented in a wide variety of ways: playable clothing, augmented fashion sculptures, typographic embodiment installations and fashion that is completely detached from physicality.

MODE und RELIGION

FASHION and RELIGION

FASHION and RELIGION

Interdisciplinary staging "transcendent"

2019 Cistercian Abbey Otterberg

Starting point for the staging in the interior of the abbey  is the anthropological and cultural meaning of fashion.

At first glance incompatible - there are many parallels to religion .

Fashion is also identity-constituting and meaningful, gives support and orientation, even includes a future perspective:

TO CARRY means TO BE.

How does this influence our dealings with consumption or social communication? The ambivalence of such interrelationships and questions can be aesthetically experienced by the audience in individual scenes.

The ubiquitous overstimulation leads to an increased need for spirituality.

In the end it comes full circle:

People and staging find their way back to their origins in a new way.

LICHTINSTALLATION

___________

for the staging of the Cistercian Abbey Otterberg .

2017

  Central design feature for the

Projection mapping was “elementary” in addition to the historical facade and the rose window of the Romanesque abbey.

For the conception of the light installation, this motif should be taken up and using 15 helium-filled,

remotely controllable luminous bodies with a diameter of 140 cm each are reflected in the night sky.

At the same time, a new space was to be created above the church forecourt by means of a floating level.

LOOKBOOK

Fashion has always been of central importance for creating identity and individuality. The forms and characteristics of fashionable behavior are subject to cultural and historical change and also currently show a wide variety of phenomena.

What happens when uniqueness becomes mass-produced and the emphasis on the self becomes increasingly difficult in a multiple, heterogeneous environment?

Strategies are varied, from hoarding fashion items to creatively customizing personal outfits.

Together with a ubiquitous digital presence, an immense flood of information and increasing dynamics in all areas, this leads to sensory overload and strengthens the longing for simplicity and retreat.

The collection traces these phenomena and their phases.
